Students to observe sobering costs of DUI arrests when real court trial held at school gym

SACRAMENTO—West Campus High School students will see firsthand on March 24 the legal consequences that come after an arrest for driving under the influence when the campus plays host to the DUI Court in Schools Program.

Students will witness a real DUI court proceeding at the campus with an actual judge and defendant as well as actual attorneys. The students will also observe whatever punishment the judge issues.

Students share traits they want for new Sacramento schools chief

SACRAMENTO, CA –Â鶹ԭ´´ (Â鶹ԭ´´) middle and high school students will share what they want in a new superintendent today from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the district headquarters, 5735 47th Ave.

Â鶹ԭ´´ also held an ambitious round of seven town halls around the city to gather input from city residents about the district’s strengths. The district has also posted a survey open to all that takes less than five minutes to complete.

Friday is last day to complete survey on what traits are wanted for new Sacramento schools chief

SACRAMENTO, CA –Â鶹ԭ´´ (Â鶹ԭ´´) is asking community members to submit their recommendations for what they would like to see in a new superintendent by completing a brief online survey by midnight on Friday, March 17.

The survey may be found at http://www.scusd.edu/superintendent-search along with comments from each of the town halls. The survey is available in English, Spanish, Hmong, Chinese and Russian.

FAIR Education Act: Staff Resources

Overview

The FAIR Education Act is to be implemented in social science classes in all grades. As part of this work, Â鶹ԭ´´ is available to support teachers and the school community to create and maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment.

The law provides no additional funding for new textbooks.
