What is a CTE Advisory Committee?

Overview

Career Technical Education (CTE) programs in the Sacramento City Unified School District are served by a District-Level CTE Advisory Board and Individual CTE Program Advisory Committees. These committees are made up of parents, students, teachers, representative of business and industry, labor organizations, representatives of special populations, and other interested individuals. Committee members are involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of secondary CTE programs throughout the district.

The physical fitness test (PFT) for students in California schools is the . The main goal of the test is to help students in starting life-long habits of regular physical activity.

All students in grades third – ninth and tenth - twelfth (in PE courses) take the fitness test. The test has six parts that show a level of fitness that offer a degree of defense against diseases that come from inactivity. The test results can be used by students, teachers, and parents
